Track and Field
July 29th – August 1st
July 29th – August 1st
The track and field camp will aim to improve a multitude of attributes for our athletes. The goal is for our athletes not only develop their skills, but develop an understanding of the “why” behind the “how”. Once they gain an understanding of the “how” and “why”, they can begin focusing on the “what”, which is, “what do I need to do to get better”.The workout research and design, complemented with the Muscle Fiber section should provide them with that foundation to build upon.
Track and Field Camp Focus:
Form, Sprint Mechanics vs Distance Mechanics, Hurdle Mechanics, Long Jump Mechanics, Triple Jump Mechanics, Muscle Fibers
Form and Coordination:The Form and Coordination section will focus on using proper form to utilize when warming up, stretching, and executing various motor skills and movement patterns, and workout research and design.
Sprint Mechanics vs Distance Mechanics: The Sprint Mechanics vs Distance Mechanics section will focus on the difference of mechanics between sprinting and long distance running, how to develop those mechanics, why it is important to utilize the proper mechanics, and workout research design.
Hurdle Mechanics: The focus of the Hurdle Mechanics section is developing a foundation of both the 100H/110H and 300H which entails hurdle specific stretching exercises, hip mobility drills, lead and trail leg drills, and workout research and design.
Long Jump Mechanics: During the Long Jump Mechanics section we will focus on developing a foundation and understanding of executing the long jump. We will learn the phases of the long jump (Approach, Take off, Flight, and Landing), as well as, workout research and design.
Triple Jump Mechanics:Our Triple Jump Mechanics section will focus on developing a foundation and understanding of executing the Triple Jump. We will learn the phases of the long jump (Approach, 1st Phase, 2nd Phase, 3rd Phase), how to properly single leg cycle, bound for distance, as well as, workout research and design.
Muscle Fibers: The Muscle Fibers section will focus on learning about fast and slow twitch muscle fibers, their roles in performance, and workout and research design.

Days: July 29th – August 1st
Time: 9:00-12:00
You will notice that some sections are not listed on some days. If your athlete isn’t within that focus, it does not mean that they do not need to be there. This just means that the focus will be on the sections listed. Those who are not within that focus will continue working on their craft from the previous day. I look forward to seeing you there!!!
